Behind every successful organization there are faithful committed people.
This is especially true of New Hope Community Church, because a church is so much more than its mere structures, systems and organization; it is a sacred family of believers.
With that in mind, consider your Trustee Team along with so many others at New Hope who are volunteering to serve and make our community of faith a wonderful place to gather and draw near to Jesus. It is our hope of helping you understand the important role the trustees have at New Hope. The Bible Teaches that any leadership or stewardship role in the church serves the Lord by serving His Church.
God has blessed us with a wonderful place to gather. May we be good stewards of this tool. Though in the Old Testament the temple played a different role than our gathering place, surely God still wants us to care for what He has blessed us with. This is what the Lord Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored," says the Lord. "You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?" declares the Lord Almighty. "Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house." -Haggai 1:7-9
Considering the biblical model for servant leadership, we must first remember God is a God of relationship. Before anyone can assume a position of leadership / stewardship in the church, he or she must be in a right relationship with God. Intimacy, fellowship, and right standing with God are divine imperatives for effective leadership or stewardship as a trustee in the Church of Jesus Christ
In fulfilling this solemn responsibility the Trustee team follows a set of Guiding Principles. Some of those principles are listed below:
Spiritual Sensitivity: We have a love for the Lord and consequently the church body. We will be sensitive to its needs and will endeavor to administer our responsibilities in a manner that provides a robust and fruitful worship environment.
Teamwork: We team with our church family and others on the basis of trust, understanding, and love.
Accountability: We accept responsibility and are accountable to God and the Elders and congregation for the proper administration of our servant leadership duties.
Communication: We will proactively communicate with the church body and others in a clear, open, and honest manner.
